Noah Hay- Twenty three year old former Hogwarts student (Hufflepuff). Coalminer. Jacqueline Belmonte- Twenty two years old. Another former Hogwarts student (Ravenclaw). Private School Music Teacher. Setting- Some bar in Scotland. Evening.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Noah had been sitting there on the barstool for hours, ordering up drink after drink. Needless to say, he was quite drunk. His girlfriend of about a year had broken it off with him, you see. He'd come home from the coalmine to find a note laying on their kitchen counter in the apartment they used to share. He kept telling himself that he didn't care, though. Because he didn't. Right?
Anyway, he was doing a good job of believing it, so far, as he tapped his foot along to the music playing in the background over by the dancefloor. God, though, he was gonna miss her in the morning. And he'd probably have a hangover, too. Not that he cared, turning around to wink at some woman who'd just walked by. She was real pretty. Nice blonde hair.
The blue-eyed man took another long drink. Hopefully one of his friends would show up soon, or even just one of his brothers. Mary didn't drink, having all those kids and all. Levi was known to and all the rest, too, save for Zeb. He was a lawyer or something, now. They barely talked anymore. Zeb was an ass. Thought he was too good for them or something. Right. Asshole...

Jacqueline Belmonte was said to have it all. A loving family, wonderful friends, and a wonderful job where she got to teach kids and she treated them as kindly as she would any of her own. But that was one mistake most people made. That Jacqueline had it all. She didn't. She lacked a boyfriend and had in truth ever since she'd graduated from Hogwarts. She had no prospective boyfriends to speak of either. Her life was downright boring and miserable as far as she saw it. Sure she had a house and lots of money, but what was the point if she couldn't share it with anyone? Chessie had died a few years back and Jac couldn't find the heart to replace her best friend.
A stop in at the bar was just what she needed. She needed for once in her life to do something reckless, get rip roaringly drunk and call herself a taxi and go home and sleep it off and well, the consequences be damned. A headache would go away, and for a little while, she'd be too drunk to remember why she'd wanted to get wasted in the first place.
Miss Belmonte upon entering the bar walked towards the bartender with a purpose and was only dissuaded from ordering a drink when she noticed someone she hadn't spoken too much too outside of letters. "...Noah Hay?!"

Noah was quickly pulled out of his bad mood, however, when someone who had just entered the bar spoke up to him. And a grin spread across his tanned face, blue eyes full of mischief the way they'd been in his school days when he turned to look at her. Man, even she'd gotten pretty over the years, though he didn't have any particular romantic interest in one of her, what with her being one of his best friends and all. That just wouldn't do well, you know?
"Well, hey there Jackie." Setting down his bottle, he brushed his shaggy, dark brown hair out of his eyes quickly with his fingers. And he stood, offering her a hug. Merlin, he'd missed her. Sure, they talked in letters, but it just wasn't the same as in the old days. He missed the old days, too. Back when he didn't have to really think much about girls or work (manual labor, at least) and he could just run around the grounds all day or explore the castle, trying to get a suit of armor to talk to him. That had been how they'd met, actually. Back when he didn't have to worry about Alicia dumping him for some city guy...Edan, wasn't it?
But at least Jacqueline was here, now. And he was happy. "Sit down. I'll buy yer drink. What're ye havin'?"
